Garderes ‘Le Manoir de la Source’

Garderes – le Manoir de la Source’ is a magical 17th century private French manor house nestled amidst the sunflower strewn hills of Gascony. Situated on a ridge, it has a commanding view of the Pyrenees and an uninterrupted panorama of the peaceful Gascon countryside.

Dedicated to health and wellbeing, Garderes proffers a little slice of paradise – absolute serenity and a chance to reboot physically, mentally and emotionally. Breaks are available on an exclusive hire, bed and breakfast basis or on a full retreat programme.

The Accommodation

Garderes offers versatile and flexible accommodation for up to 16 residential guests, with relaxed elegant décor surrounded by superb gardens, with unparalleled views. The Grounds

The grounds extend to over 6 hectares (15 acres), with plenty of opportunity for woodland and forest walks. The gardens are a joy to explore, offering a range of different environments to suit the mood. There is a large outdoor pool with terrace, pool bar and dining area, with views of the stunning landscape. A Herb Garden, a shaded White Garden for tea and contemplation, and a restorative Healing Garden forms part of the property where the magical ‘ La Source’ can be discovered. A natural spring with its origins reputedly established from the famous ‘Healing Source ‘ is at the foot of the hill, just 1km away. During the early 1900s, it boasted of miraculous healing powers.  A perfect place for reflection, meditation and inner spiritual growth.

The Area

Gascony, the alternative south of France for those ‘in the know’, is the best kept secret holiday destination for presidents, royalty and celebrated TV and film glitterati. Rustic is the new Chic, and here in Gascony they do it to perfection.  It also plays host to the famous annual Marciac Jazz Festival just 4km from Garderes.
